DAY ONE

Sa-wa-dee krab and welcome to the Land of Smiles, welcome to Thailand!
As arrival into a busy international airport can sometimes be confusing and overwhelming, to help remove that stress, our team will meet you in a pre-arranged location so you can simply wander through, grab your luggage and we’ll be on our way to the hotel in downtown Bangkok in no time!
Once we’re at the hotel and you’ve had a chance to freshen up and feel alive again, we’ll meet back up and head to a wonderful local restaurant for dinner and a relaxed chat.
DAY TWO
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Following breakfast your guide will sit down with you and go through your itinerary in more detail. You’ll learn more about the local culture and customs and how to really make the most of your time in Thailand.
We’ll then head out to explore this incredible city. We’ll explore on foot, by train, canal and river boat, all the while showcasing some of the city’s most remarkable landmarks. Prepare to be amazed as you really discover how this bustling metropolis goes about the day to day.
This evening will be our official ‘Welcome to Thailand’ dinner and perhaps a couple of drinks.
DAY THREE
Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner
This morning we’ll transfer from the hotel to Bangkok’s second airport for our 60 minute flight north to the charming city of Chiang Mai. On arrival we’ll transfer to our next hotel and settle in. We’ll meet up again to run through the plan for our time in the north and to explain more about the elephants.
As the sun starts to set we’ll take the easy walk from the hotel to the world-famous Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. This is a wonderful market full of local artists and craftsmen showing off their wares. We’ll get some dinner here and enjoy time shopping for the perfect souvenirs.
DAY FOUR
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Today we’ll head out to explore this charming and quaint city with a leisurely stroll through the narrow old streets. We’ll stop to admire the hidden temples that have existed here for 100’s of years and learn more about the differences between the ancient capital of Thailand, and the modern capital of Bangkok.
This evening we’ll enjoy a very entertaining local show and wonderful traditional dinner. The perfect end to the day before we head to the elephants!
DAY FIVE
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
So today we’re off to the elephants! We’ll depart the hotel in the morning for the 45 minute transfer through the jungles. On arrival we’ll get settled in to the accommodation before introducing you to the team here. You’ll also get to meet the mahout’s and then it’s on to the elephants! But not before we have our detailed breakdown of the itinerary where we’ll learn more about the work that we’ll be joining with and without the elephants. You are going to have the most unforgettable time here and today will be right up there with the most surreal times ever.
DAY SIX
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Waking up and drinking your coffee as the elephants roam in the distance is the morning that best days ever are made of – well, welcome to the best day ever! Your activities today will depend on the needs of the camp and the surrounding communities. But we can assure you that it will absolutely involve time with the elephants and enjoying the local surroundings. We promise we won’t work you too hard but at the end of the day you will have achieved something that is needed and will benefit others long after you’ve departed.
DAY SEVEN
Meals Included: Breakfast
Sadly, this morning we’ll be departing the camp early as we’re heading back to the airport for our flight south and on to the beautiful island of Koh Samed! The flight will be just over an hour to the regional airport of U-tapao, located just 45 minutes from the pier from where we’ll take the quick crossing to the island.
On arrival on Koh samed it’s a quick transfer to our new accommodation right on the best beach on the island and we should be checked-in by lunchtime. You will have free time to rest up, enjoy the beach, or head out and explore the island. Whatever you want, we promise you the most relaxing time ever!
DAYS EIGHT & NINE
Meals Included: Breakfast
Koh Samed is a sun worshippers paradise, but it also has heaps of activities to keep you entertained and relaxed. This is the perfect location to spend a few days just enjoying the world-famous Thai hospitality, filling up on the mouthwatering cuisine, enjoying the markets, restaurants and bars. There’s always something happening on Samed and we promise you’ll have the most wonderful time here.
DAY TEN
Meals Included: Breakfast
Today we’ll depart Samed and head back to Bangkok. If your flight away from Thailand is today, just let us know what time so we can have you have you at the airport in time. Should you wish to stay one more night in Bangkok, we can arrange a hotel either close to the airport (perfect if your flight is early the next day) or a hotel in the centre of Bangkok if you have any plans to shop or enjoy an evening out.
OUR SUPPORTED ELEPHANT PROJECT
At trunk we only support elephant and wildlife projects with genuine, achievable and sustainable goals and methods. A new location in the local area that is striving to be one of the leading elephant camps. We have worked very closely helping to establish this new elephant camp, having known the owners for many years. Their passion and drive is second to none. They have reunited elephant families back together. Allowing these beautiful elephants to walk freely through the day in vast fields, with rivers and mountains everywhere you look. It’s stunning! You’d be surprised how rare it can be to find a happy elephant and these are definitely happy elephants!
